Senior Tax & Accountant - South Milwaukee Location

Job Summary:

The Senior Tax & Accountant will plan and direct the tax/accounting activities of the department.

The Senior Tax & Accountant will prepare tax returns for individuals, companies, or organizations under the guidance of a certified public accountant. The Tax Preparer may also assist accountants with preparation of returns for complex businesses, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Consults with clients to develop a basic understanding of their financial affairs and the scope of their tax liabilities.
  • Reviews previous tax returns and financial documents to identify missing or incomplete information or documentation.
  • Reviews all supplied financial information for accuracy.
  • Uses the appropriate accounting software or system to prepare tax returns.
  • Calculates taxes owed or refunds due to client; consults tax law publications for guidance on unusual situations.
  • Submits tax returns to accountant for review.
  • Presents approved returns to clients.
  • Files tax returns for clients.
  • Maintains understanding and knowledge of changes in tax law by reading professional literature or attending tax seminars and training courses.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Enrolled Agent designation a must.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Junior Accountant - South Milwaukee Location

The bookkeeping and accounting staff members maintain our clients financial and business records. The bookkeeper/Junior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the client’s financials, reconciliations, preparing journal entries, timeliness of information, reporting requirements, payroll and payroll tax filings, estimated tax planning, and maintaining communication with the client always. It is expected that the bookkeeping staff members will adhere to a strict line of ethics when working with any of our clients. It is also expected that you will be able to be available to answer any client questions/concerns they may have and maintain a constant line of communication with the client. It is critical for our accounting staff to identify opportunities to support other departments such as tax and financial services.

  • Process payroll for in-house payroll clients
  • Preparing and file payroll tax deposits, payroll forms, sales tax, and expo tax returns
  • Supervise and prepare workman’s compensation audits upon client request

Financial Analyst I - Bellville Location

Support our team of Senior Wealth Planners by creating financial plans, creating presentation materials, and providing technical reporting while using tools standardized to our industry. Becoming an expert in financial planning, building portfolios, analyzing risk, and supporting all wealth management issues for clients. Supporting the Associate Advisors by collecting, analyzing, and entering financial planning source documents into our financial planning software with the highest level of accuracy. Reviewing financial statements for accuracy in addition to inputting data to match our client's financial and life goals. Supporting our team during client meeting sessions by recording comprehensive notes, action plans, and planning opportunities. Analyzing data to identify opportunities and develop advanced planning techniques. Ideal position for anyone on the Financial Advisor track.
